An emissions-cheating scandal affecting 11 million Volkswagen cars worldwide widened on 22 October 2015 as Europe's biggest carmaker said it is investigating whether a second type of engine had cheating software installed. So far, the crisis has revolved around EA 189 diesel engines in Volkswagen, Audi, Seat and Skoda cars and vans.
